We have just taken delivery of a Newton Commercial carpet set for our Project2tone – come have a look see
In our last post we managed to finish the entire bus with the gift of JK’s virtual bus builder. Because things are not quite that easy in reality we knew we’d have to pull our fingers out and get our carpet ordered to get the flooring looking just as good as the rest of our upholstery.
I had been researching this for some time, but following a Camper&Bus ‘Shop Tour’ feature at Newton Commercial (www.newtoncomm.co.uk) it was clear that Johnny Newton’s boys were right for the job. Yes – There are other companies offering carpet sets for Type25′s but because of the nature of how Newton’s produce their rugs, it made it simple to specify my exact requirements. Those being it was Right hand drive with Automatic gearbox, and of course the colour, weave and edging type all playing a part in the desicion making.
You can see below the level of detail involved in their sets, making the price tag of £214.23 a snip at half the price. Vinyl edging, precision cut pedals recesses and heel mat, and all shaped and stitched to mold around your bus.
We’ll be following progress of how the fitting goes in the mag soon but for now I look forward to getting this in if at the very least, to hide my car audio cabling from the outside street.
